The Follo Line project – The use of a new innovative system for scanning in a drill and blast excavation

Abstract: On the Follo Line project in Oslo, currently Norway’s largest transport project, Amberg Technologies supports the construction with surveying systems, services and know-how for the drill and blast lot in Oslo. For the first time a new system was used which allows scanning, positioning and processing of point clouds close to real time. With the intuitive tablet software you can immediately visualize the results on-site. Furthermore, critical areas can be selected in the software and visualized with a red laser on the tunnel wall. This allows the tunnel crew to do the correction works in about five minutes after scanning. In former times, up to four hours of postprocessing were required to achieve the same results.
