Full-Scale Experimental Investigation on Influence of Active Temporary Column on Column-Free QuasiRectangular Shield Tunnel during Construction Period
In the whole construction-operation process of shield tunnel, synchronous grouting is utilized to control the ground loss. However, the grouting pressure caused by synchronous grouting may lead to relatively unfavourable internal force and deformation response on tunnel structure. Furthermore, it may cause a series of adverse consequences such as cracking and leakage. In order to reduce the negative influence caused by the synchronous grouting, a temporary column could be used as the temporary support to optimize the mechanical behaviour of the tunnel during the construction period. Until now, temporary support has seldom been applied in shield tunnel construction. At the same time, the specific effect on the mechanical behaviour of the tunnel caused by the application and the disassembly of the active temporary column during construction period is not clear. As a result, there is no reasonable design and analysis theory for tunnel structure with an active temporary column. In this paper, a column-free quasi-rectangular shield tunnel with an active temporary column is investigated. A full-scale test is carried out, in which mechanical behaviour of the structure during the whole construction-operation process is studied. The structural deformation and the joint deformation are described in whole process. What’s more, the influence mechanism caused by the application of the active temporary column is studied, which provides the technical support and basis for the design of the column-free quasi-rectangular shield tunnels with the active temporary column.
