Characterization of Interface between Sprayed Concrete and Thin Spray-on Membrane
Thin spray-on membrane, which is a sprayed waterproofing membrane is considered as a measure of a conventional waterproofing sheet since it can be easily sprayed on sprayed concrete or excavated rock surface. Especially, it can be utilized in a single-shell tunnel because it can transfer loads acting on a sprayed concrete layer to the other sprayed concrete layer. However, the interfacial properties between sprayed concrete and thin spray-on membrane should be characterized in order to evaluate the possibility of reducing the thickness of sprayed concrete due to it. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the interfacial properties between sprayed concrete and thin spray-on membrane from a series of direct shear and normal compression tests. From the tests, thin spray-on membrane might prevent sprayed concrete layers from failing in a brittle manner. However, normal and shear stiffnesses obtained from specimens including thin spray-on membrane slightly decreased due to its high ductility.Recipient :
