  Uneven settlement induced by a curved shielding tube

  Settlement induced by a curved tube is different from that in straight tube case. The field test on a metro project in Malaysia has been conducted,which contains several curve portions. Five observation sections at varing alignment radius are arranged.The in-site surface settlements on those sections are well fitted by two separate Peck formulas with the tube centerline as the axis.And the jacking force exerted during shielding through these sections is also studied.It is found that the ground settlement profile induced by a curved shielding tube is dissymmetric about the alignment. The external width of settlment profile is much wider than that of the internal.The ration of volumn of ground loss on the internal and external of settlement profile is inversely proportional to the square of alignment radius, and it is also proportional to the ration of jacking force adoped on the external and internal of curved alignment.
