Site specific seismic study of Tupul-Imphal railway line in Manipur, India
The present study is focused on the site specific seismic study of the ongoing Tupul-Imphal Railway Line in Manipur which includes the Tunnel No 12 of the Tupul - Imphal section with an estimated length of 11.55 km. The proposed railway line is few kilometers only from the epicenter of the January 3, 2016 Mw6.7 earthquake, resulting from strike slip faulting in the complex plate boundary, thus making the necessity of this study. The railway alignment is traversed and surrounded by many well-established faults, viz., None, Dalang, Langka Fault as well as regional fault like Churachandpur-Mao-Fault, Kadi Fault and Kabaw Thrust etc. These faults can cause large magnitude earthquakes in future.Recipient :
