Residential buildings in downtown would suffer disturbance from tunnelling, even with the help of shield machine. Tunnelling in soft soil induces subsidence of ground above metro tunnels, resulting in structural damage of buildings. In the presented study, relevance between field monitoring data of buildings and tunnelling parameters is investigated. The collected data of buildings includes type of foundation, type of structure, the number of storey, location with respect to metro tunnels, and monitored settlement. Examined parameters of shield tunnels are the depth and strata of tunnel passing through.
