  Uskudar-Umraniye-Cekmekoy metro construction project: cement injection filling of limestone karst cavities in Kemerdere tunnels

  Within the scope of the Uskudar-Umranıye-Cekmekoy metro construction project conducted by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Department of Rail Systems, Directorate of Rail Systems on Asian Side tunnel excavations are performed by using both NATM and TBM excavation methods. Platform, scissors crossing tunnel, transportation, connecting and ladder tunnels are excavated with NATM method because they are located in different cross sections. As the main line tunnels are located in one type cross section, they are excavated with TBM method. As all over the world, together with rapid poplutaion growth in Istnabul usage of the rail systems and underground transporation in particular has become indispensable.
