  Line Green 2 São Paulo Subway - New Stretch - Main aspects of the basic engineering design

  The new expansion of the Line 2 Green, Stretch between Vila Prudente and Dutra Station, of the São Paulo Subway, will extend this line to the northeast of the city until the neighbour county of Guarulhos, contributing to an expansion in the current system in approximately 14,5 km, with13 new underground stations (7 Conventional method and 6 Cut&Cover), 1 yard for parking and maintenance of trains, and parking tunnels (Conventional method -NATM) with capacity for 12 vehicles along the line. Due to the peculiarities of the route of Line 2 Green, stretch - Vila Prudente - Dutra, the whole section is being designed in underground. This paper presents physiographic, geological, geotechnical, urban, architectural aspects and basic design of the stretch of subway line, completely underground.
