  Study on construction period and cost management in long drill and blast railway tunnel

  Based on division of tunnel construction procedures, through extensive investigation, site survey and expert interview, distribution characteristics of time and cost of each constructing activity is obtained. By using Monte Carlo method, relationship between time and cost of tunnel construction can be acquired. An original software is programed based on web platform to calculate the construction time and cost. The fact that the results acquired from the software is consistent with the condition of the actual project case reveals that this study can correctly reflect construction time and cost of long drill and blast railway tunnel. Time and cost of tunnel construction as well as the relationship between them, the calculation of which are based on different working condition such as multi faces arrangement, different construction method and so on, effectively assist for the decisionmaking of planners and contractors.
