The London Underground transport network is undergoing an upgrade programme for lines and key stations to address steadily increasing passenger numbers and an ageing infrastructure. This paper indicates some elements of the upgrade programme and where the Tottenham Court Road Station upgrade sits within that plan. One of the most challenging parts of this project, two "overbridges" over the existing Central line westbound platform tunnel, shows the successful, innovative application of sprayed concrete linings (SCL) in London's transport network.
