  Electronic Inspection System Development and Application of City Road Shield Tunnel Structure

  Inspection is one of the basic works in road shield tunnel structure maintenance and it is very important work for tunnels in serving. Nowadays most of inspection work in China is by personnel based on paper which has the disadvantages such as low inspection efficiency, lack of plan, high ratio of leak and wrong inspection, low ratio of personnel presentation and lack of initiative. In this paper, an electronic inspection system is developed for city road shield tunnel structure maintenance which includes inspection platform in personal digital assistant, sensor, sensor data collection module, electronic tag and data management platform on terminal computer. Through this system, not only the inspection personnel can be guided in the structural common inspection, but also the structural important parameters can be monitored and analysed. Moreover, the electronic tags can record the deficiencies around the inspection point and check up the personnel presentation. The system application in Shanghai Yingbin No.3 Road structure inspection indicates that the quality of the inspection work has been evidently advanced.
