  New design of a single arch deep located station for Kyiv metro

  After analyzing several designs of the deep located single arch metro stations in Moscow and Petersburg authors decided to develop a new design for the ground conditions in Kyiv but faced with a problem of the impossibility of erection of such structures without massive side walls. The walls are constructed in the TBM pilot drift, so the axis of the pilot drift doesn’t coincide with the axis of the main line tunnel. The geological and mining conditions in Kyiv assume that the distance from the crown to the invert of the lining should not exceed 13 m. As a result, the authors reviewed the advantages of such type of lining and made calculated scheme for all stages of building. The paper also shows the technological schemes of construction of the station.
