The blasting method is used for tunnel excavation in hard rock. In the blasting, waves such as seismic waves propagating in rock and blasting sounds propagating in tunnel are generated. Spectrogram is signal processing in time and frequency domain, frequency characteristics are evaluated for rock condition at a tunnel cutting face. In this study, spectrogram analysis is carried out for blasting sound and seismic wave generated by blasting, the dominant frequency of power spectrum for blasting sound and seismic wave is related to the rock condition at the tunnel cutting face. Furthermore, a risk assessment for the safety during tunnel excavation work is studied, the risk matrix and equations focusing on the power spectrum gotten by spectrogram analysis are shown, and the risk assessment system for stability at tunnel cutting face is proposed.
