Zhengzhou, Henan, China E-mail: shijiesuidaodahui@163.com Abstract: Aiming at the construction risks such as water leakage and grout leakage in the tail seal system of the shield machine, this paper analyzes the water leakage and collapse accident of Guangdong Foshan Metro project in detail, and proposes a comprehensive early warning method for the safety of tail seal based on a variety of front -end sensing technologies. Based on the integrated development of front-end sensors such as peripheral pressure, grouting pressure, tail brush cavity state and tail gap, the front-end sensing monitoring network is established, through which the monitoring data are displayed in the HMI in real time and is applied to the metro project in Hangzhou city. In addition, combined with the tail brush sealing capacity parameters, seal leakage criteria, this paper also elaborates the tail seal safety comprehensive early warning method. The risk level of shield tail seal is also generated in the practical application to ensure the construction safety.
