Reinforcement Measures for Tunnels with Large Deformation
During excavation of the Matsukaya Tunnel in fragile pelitic schist, a horizontal displacement of up to 770 mm occurred on one sidewall, damaging the primary support and heaving the invert. To stabilize the tunnel during excavation and to prevent the deformation risk during service, the invert was reinforced with struts and the lining was fiber-reinforced. Moreover, a numerical analysis was performed to reproduce the actual phenomenon of the decrease in the ground strength after plasticization, and the effectiveness of the countermeasures was confirmed. This paper describes the deformation countermeasures during tunnel excavation in pelitic schist and the verification results of the deformation mechanism by numerical analysis.Recipient :
