The purpose of this paper is to examine rock properties and driller specifications to estimate drilling rate (DR) for percussion drillers. In order to predict the DR, data that is belongs to percussion drilling were collected from the literature and re-constructed to compute rock brittleness (BI) as a function of strength both uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) and Brazilian tensile strength (BTS) and also density (D) of rocks. Further, simple and multiple both linear and non-linear regression analyses were performed to estimate the rate of drilling via input variables including UCS, BTS and BI; and also driller specifications such as operational pressure (OpP) and bit diameter (BitD). Concluding remark is that drilling rate estimation for percussion drillers are multiple non-linear regression task to obtain the best accurate model for predicting the DR. It is resulted that the BI, UCS, OpP and BitD having significant effect on the DR. Lastly, the most precise equation for estimating the DR is suggested with correlation coefficient (r) of 0.85.
