The project Stockholm Bypass is located west of Stockholm city centre to decrease the north-south road traffic through Stockholm and linking together and develop the external and regional cores. The bypass consists of more than 50 km of rock tunnels which will be constructed by using the method of drill and blast. As well of the means of this large scale and complex project and the overall decision by The Swedish Transport Administration to implement BIM in upcoming procurements it has been very essential for the project management to implement the use of 3D-models as contractual documents in the building contracts. This means that during the construction- phase, from 2016 until 2026, productionmodels and documents will be created and delivered to the client as controldocuments and as-built documents. This huge amount of data are at the finalization of the project in 2026 to be handed over to the Maintenance-department for further use during the service time, the rock-tunnel has a technical life-time of 120 years. In order to make sure that all deliveries will be made in an organized and structural way, independent from what company or contractor in the project that will make the deliveries, the Swedish consultancy company Adtollo AB, with input from The Swedish Transport Administration, as a client, has developed a tool for this special type of project-administration. This administration-tool are designed to handle almost every type of documentation that are stipulated to be delivered by the contractors, from control-programs in pdf-format up to survey-data consisting of laser-scans, in for example las-format. All the data that are to delivered will be geo-referred and attached to the actual alignment for the data.During the construction-phase the data delivered from the contractors are also about to be used as basis for the upcoming inspections of the contractors work. An even more important function of this system is the use as a tool for the handling over all important and relevant data from the project to the Swedish Transport Administrations Maintenance- and Service-department, and their further use of documents and data during the Stockholm Bypass´s expected technical life-time of 120 years. The consultancy-company Adtollo has made large efforts to create a solid and user-friendly soft-ware environment, and also a platform that can handle data-files of large size and also large amounts of data-files, a platform with a specific searchengine for easy search among the documents of varying type. This platform are not solely a system for the project Stockholm Bypass, further plans are to implement it in the other large projects to be built by The Swedish Transport Administration.
