  A Study on the Construction and Maintenance Plan for Freeze-Thaw Damage Mitigation Technology Using Carbon Nano Tube

  Tunnels in cold regions are exposed to various freezing environments such as freeze-thaw and snowing depending on the climatic characteristics. Thus There are many problems in maintenance of lining, road surface and portal due to the freezing and thawing repetition.The problem of durability causing by freezing is typically the frozen road surface, the increase of the lining back earth pressure and the degradation of concrete. In order to prevent damage from it, a calcium chloride spraying system and a snow melting system using and electric heating line have been developed and constructed. However, due to road damage and short durability, it is difficult to utilize the technology continuously.Therefore, this paper aims to develop a freeze-thaw protection system for the entrance and exit of road tunnel using the carbon nano tube(CNT). CNT are carbon allotrope having a cylindrical nanostructure, and it is used as an additive for various structural materials because its thermal conductibity and mechanical and electrical properties are very specific. Also depending on the bonding material, it can be molded in any shape and can be made of flexible or rigid material.In this paper, the construction guideline and the maintenance plan are prepared to secure the performance and construction quality of the freeze-thaw demage mitigation technology using CNT. The indexes for construction and maintenance were derived considering the characteristics of CNT and the applicable environmental characteristics of cold region.Freezing-thawing repetition days, Carbon nano tube, Safety management process, Cold region.
