Combination of STS and PBA is firstly applied to construct ultra-shallow-buried subway station, and it lacks of theoretical research and engineering experience. Based on the Aoti Center subway station, force mechanism of STS structure is investigated in the construction stages. The results indicate that The new STS piperoofing method can improve the overall bearing capacity compared to traditional pipe-roofing method. It will also increase the usage rate of underground space by using rectangular sections.Steel tube slab; PBA; ultra shallow buried; force mechanism; key technique.
