Simulation and analysis in 3D of TBM disc normal and gauge cutters coupled with SPH method
the mechanism of rock fragmentation by disc cutters during tunneling is the key to the tbm (tunnel boring machine) performance. In order to study the characteristics of rock cracks in the rock fragmentation process, various numerical methods (FEm, FDm and DEm) were performed to establish the three-dimensional model. In this paper, coupled with Sph method the FEm method is used to simulate the rock fragmentation process by normal and gauge cutters. Main parameters characterizing rock cutting with a tbm disc cutters such as cutting force, rolling forces and GFI have been estimated correctly in numerical simulations. In this simulation, the distribution of crake zone by gauge cutter is distinguished from the normal cutter. With the increase of the inclination angle of gauge cutter, the working effciency of gauge cutter decrease at frst then increase. And the numerical results are a good agreement with experimental data and feld data.Recipient :
