  Study of the evaluation method on tunnel lining clack progress

  Nippon Expressway Company Limited (NEXCO)’s tunnel lining detailed inspection system carries out desk checking of the image photographing records of lining surfaces from the inspection image acquisition system and is made up of a combination of desk checking extracting important inspection points as well as implementation checks by an engineer. Both inspections evaluate Tunnel-lining Crack Index (TCI)’s evaluation points associated with external force and flaking and special item in combination. In this research, in order to achieve high accuracy and optimization in the detailed lining inspection of the expressway, an inspection data analysis of 99 tunnels and 9683 spans for which lining surface image photographing records were taken several times was carried out in order to quantify an evaluation index of the progressive cracks The data analysis showed that by using progressive lining cracks as TCI, it is possible to evaluate it quantitatively.
