At present, the research on performance-based seismic design of tunnel structure in tunnel field is not as systematic as bridge and high-rise building. However, from the previous earthquake damage experience, the increase in the development of tunnel construction in the region of high earthquake intensity and the development of national “traffic infrastructure major structural security strategy research”, the seismic fortification needs are still strong for Lifeline Engineering of tunnel. In reference to China’s “code for seismic design of buildings” (GB 50011-2010), we introduced the concept of structure performance-based seismic design and combined with years to the Ministry of Transport of the western development of multiple earthquake seismic and shock absorption research project. The completion of the main research contents are as follows: 1) Seismic classification of the tunnel was readjusted, and the different performance objectives of the three level fortification requirements were determined. 2) The different performance requirements of the checking coefficient and deformation checking index was established. Finally, a performance-based seismic design method of tunnel structure will be established.
