Implementation of 3D-models as construction document for the building contracts
The project Stockholm Bypass is located west of Stockholm city center to decrease the north-south road traffic through Stockholm and linking together and develop the external and regional cores. The bypass consists of more than 50 km of rock tunnels which will be constructed by using the method of drill and blast. As well of the means of this large scale and complex project and the overall decision by The Swedish Transport Administration to implement BIM in upcoming procurements it has been very essential for the project management to implement the use of 3Dmodels as contractual documents in the building contracts. This article will present the chain of workflow from the clients design in to tender documents up to the contractors’ use of the 3D models in their production and also the experience gained from this workflow. This article will also show how the traditional way of work has been revised significantly by the use of 3D-models.Recipient :
