The construction of two hydraulic tunnels with a total length of 30 km is forecast in the Nenskra (Georgia) project. These tunnels will be mechanical excavated with a precast segmental lining. The possibility of using fiber reinforced concrete segment without any traditional reinforcement has been considered. In order to obtain suitable performance of the lining, a process was defined in order to satisfy the demands of designer and the construction company. Initially, laboratory tests were performed in order to optimize the concrete mix design. These tests were performed in University of Rome Tor Vergata by using products available on Georgia market (cement, aggregates, plasticisers...). Testing on beams according to EN 14651 was performed with the target of obtaining a 4.0c concrete according to Fib Model Code indications.
