Experiment Study on Ground Suitability for EPB Shield Tunneling in Silty Sand Stratum
EPB shield tunneling in silty sand stratum is constantly faced with overburdened loads, resulting in severe problems like large difficulty of advancement. In this case, soil conditioning is an effective way to improve the ground suitability for EPBM. However, the amount of soil conditioners’ injection is often based on experience lacking of experimental data of laboratory or field. In this article, a series of laboratory experiments are conducted designed to make clear the influence of soil conditioning on shield cutting performance. Through the self-developed ground suitability test system, four key factors including water content, soil pressure, soil conditioner types and injection ratio which affect soil condition performance are taken into consideration. Then field experiment of an engineering case is taken to be verified. Conclusions drawn from the paper can provide targeted references for engineers to determine the injection parameters of soil conditioning.Recipient :
