In the planning of underground structure, geological, geomorfhological and hydrogeological aspects have to be carefully investigated in order to evaluate risk assessment between the new excavation works and the pre-existing, especially in the presence of landslides. In this paper, a methodology approach is presented, considering some recent experiences in the Italian Apennines collected on different jobsites of the Bologna-Florence Motorway. Preliminary geological and pre-existing survey are described in order to define a refined geological design model (GDM) and a multi-criteria analyses to find the best solution for tunnels’ alignment. The construction system to minimize the tunnel deformation response, and consequently the disturb towards the ground level surface, according to ADECO Approach is discussed too. Finally, some monitoring data are analyzed to define the usual landslide behavior during construction.
