Face Stability of Crossing River Shield Tunnel under Geological Conditions of Soft and Hard uneven Strata
It is an important issue to maintain the face stability during construction of river-crossing shield tunnel. With the increasing of excavation diameter of river-crossing shield tunnels, excavation face will penetrate through heterogeneous soil strata, and it is relatively difficult to maintain the face stability under geological conditions of uneven soft-hard strata. Nowadays, most of current research methods have been presented only for a homogeneous soil at the tunnel face. This paper investigates the influence of heterogeneity of the soil strata on the instability mode of excavation face and determines the minimal support pressure by FLAC 3D. It is found that the influence of top strata of the tunnel face is comparatively significant.Recipient :
