Implementing BIM in Large Civil Works Projects
The Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link is an approximately 18 km immersed tunnel for rail and road traffic under the Fehmarnbelt between Denmark and Germany including portals and ramps as well as fire and rescue services on both sides of the border. Toll facilities and a control centre will be located on the Danish side. It is the largest infrastructure project ever taken on in Denmark and among the largest in Europe at the moment. According to the plan construction of the tunnel is expected to begin in 2015 and be completed in 2021. The Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link will be the worlds longest combined rail and road tunnel to date. The immersed part is 17.6 km from coast to coast. The Cut-and-cover tunnel at the Danish side is 0.2 km, and the corresponding Cut-and-cover tunnel on the German side is 0.4 km.Recipient :
