This project aims to relieve the shortage of water supply for daily life and industries of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor State, Malaysia, in the future, supplying approximately 1.89 million m3/ day of water from Pahang State to Kuala Lumpur and the surrounding area. The 44.6km long tunnel includes 3 sections comprising 34.6km excavated by Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), 4 sections of 9.1km length excavated by conventional tunnelling, and 1 section 0.9km long excavated by Cut and Cover method. Figures 1 and 2 respectively show the location of Pahang-Selangor Raw Water Transfer Tunnel (PSRWTT) and its longitudinal section.
