Numerical Analysis of influence of oblique Undercrossing Subway Shield Tunneling Construction on the Overlying Frame Tunnel

Undercrossing tunnels are frequently constructed by the shield- driven method in metro projects. To study the influence of new shield tunnel construction on existing frame tunnel, basing on Ningbo Metro Line 1 Century Avenue Station - Haiyan North Road Station tunnel undercrossing shallow municipal highway tunnel project, by means of 3D-FEM, the process of undercrossing shield tunnel construction is simulated and the changing laws of displacement , deformation of the existing tunnel are analyzed .At the same time, we also analysis the effect of jacking force, grouting pressure on the overlying frame tunnel's settlement and torsion with the change of shield tunnel machine's position. The results show that: there appear in the existing tunnel differential settlement, and nonuniform lateral displacement and torsion. Both before and after the shield passing through the area just below existing tunnel, the magnitude of settlement and torsion increased with the increase in the jacking force and grouting pressure within a certain range; in the stage when when shield passing through inferior of existing tunnel, the magnitude of settlement and torsion decreases with the increase in the jacking force and grouting pressure within a certain range. In construction, timely adjusting the technical parameters of shield according to the change of positional relationship between shield machine and existing tunnel is advisable, reducing the impact on the overlying tunnel to ensure a smooth shield construction.
