Estimating of Groundwater Inflow into the Sabzkuh Tunnel (Сhaharmahal and Bakhtiari)
Average rainfall of Iran is 252 mm (one-third of the world average). On the other hand, in most areas of Iran, it usually rains when there is no need to water for agriculture; besides, the rainfall is not identical in all areas of Iran. Increasing population growth in the country, shortage of water resources in these areas and presence of industries and agricultural areas have made the government collect and transport runoff in these areas to supply drinking and agricultural water in these areas. For drilling water tunnels, because of close relationship with groundwater, it is required to investigate the interaction between groundwater and tunnel. It is necessary to investigate the risks of groundwater inflow into the tunnel and stress that tunnel has on the groundwater before constructing the tunnel. Predicting the level of groundwater flowing into the tunnel is one of the most important issues in excavation of tunnels, since the risks of groundwater during drilling will cause unpredictable problems, make the access tunnel be waterlogged, damage the construction equipment and personnel in the tunnel, slow the tunnel construction, and eventually will make the drilling stop.Recipient :
